Our Equipment

Trustee Eldon Strong (left) along with Captain Gary Huys of the Crown Point Fire Department is shown with three thousand dollars worth of additional diving equipment the Trustees Office has purchased for the Fire Department in July of 2011. Captain Huys is in charge of the Fire Department Dive Team. This equipment, which included gloves, hazmat diving suit and air tanks is used by the Fire Department for water saving and recovery missions.

 

Firefighter/Diver/Paramedic Brian Bodamer surfaces during the practice. Currently there are eight divers in the unit and the Center Township Trustee Office has purchased needed equipment for each diver. The cost to equip each diver is approximately four thousand dollars.

 

Crown Point Fire Fighters have a practice ice dive in a local pond during the sub zero temperatures of January 2009.  The divers are utilizing the equipment purchased for them by the Center Township Trustee Office Practice occurs regularly so the divers are ready should a rescue occur.
